Errors get fixed and logged. This page explains how to report one and where the record of that correction ends up.

If a figure, date, source attribution or control claim on this site appears wrong or out of date, report it by email to corrections@armedconflicts.org with the page URL and, where possible, a link to the correct source. Reports are reviewed against the named source for the claim in question before any change is made.
How corrections are made
A confirmed error is corrected at the field level: the claim is either updated with a newly verified source and as-of date, or removed if it can no longer be sourced. This site does not silently edit a published figure without a basis for the change, and does not replace a sourced claim with an unsourced one.
Where corrections are logged
Each conflict's page publishes a revision history built from dated, sourced signals — including control-claim updates. A correction to a control claim is not a private edit: it produces a new dated entry in that same public revision history, tied to the source that justified the change, in the same place all other updates to that record appear.
Scope
Because this site aggregates rather than originates most of its factual claims, an error may originate in a source dataset (ACLED, UCDP, CFR) rather than in how this site represents it. Where that is the case, the correction here is limited to accurately reflecting the source's current position and directing readers to the source directly.
Where corrections show up
- Revision history, on the record. The Russia–Ukraine war page and the Syria civil war page each publish a dated revision-history table built from real signals — a headline-feed refresh, or a control-claim update with its source — which is where a correction to either page's control claims appears.
